Our Pack
Growing together since 1997.
A family Pack, supported by parents and guardians, with a place for every grade from Kindergarten through 5th.
Our story
Cub Scout Pack 862 is part of the Pacifica District of the Greater Los Angeles Area Council. Faith United Methodist Church sponsored our first den, Den 1, in 1997. For several years, it was the only active den. In 2001, parents from the church established Den 2 to give children opportunities for self-esteem, sportsmanship, team building, leadership, and outdoor adventures.
More families joined and more dens followed. By 2005, the Pack had grown enough to need a more organized structure. Camping, the Holiday Party, Scout Sunday, Pinewood Derby, and the Bridging Ceremony became lasting Pack traditions.
One welcoming Pack
Dens bring Scouts of the same rank or grade together for age-appropriate adventures. The whole Pack comes together for larger meetings, outdoor activities, races, celebrations, and service.
Pack meetings are held two or three times per month on Fridays from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.
Do Your Best
That simple motto guides our adventures. The program helps Scouts develop character, leadership, good citizenship, and personal fitness. Outdoors, personal safety awareness, family, and reverence are part of the experience.
Each Cub Scout rank has its own required and elective Adventures, with activities that grow as Scouts move from Kindergarten through 5th grade. Choose your Scout’s rank to explore the Adventures they can complete.
